Mar. 23rd, 2007 01:11 pmMy sister is insane. Or as D. would say “she’s on super crack.”
I’m reading the book she got for her birthday which she claimed was set in a Russia like area. Now I’m not very far in but the characters are in an island nation called Nippon, are wearing kimonos, visiting shrines and staying in buildings with paper walls. I think my sister needs a slight refresher course on cultures of the world. I’m hoping for her sake that the book has more Russian influence later, something besides the main character’s name, but I’m doubtful.
Edit: Now there are yokai and a kitsune, named Tamiko-san, who is a martial artist. How did my sister think this was Russian?
And yes, this is a really badly written book. Almost exceptionally so.
